The Moroccan national football team has learned the identity of its opponent in the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), currently being held in Morocco. The Atlas Lions will face Cameroon in a highly anticipated quarterfinal match scheduled for next Friday.
The match will take place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat as part of the knockout stage of the continental tournament.
Cameroon secured their place in the quarterfinals after defeating South Africa by two goals to one in a match played on Sunday evening.
For their part, Morocco qualified for the quarterfinals following a narrow 1–0 victory over Tanzania in the round of 16, in a match played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
The winning goal for Morocco was scored by Ibrahim Díaz in the 64th minute of the game, which was marked by the absence of midfielder Azzedine Ounahi due to injury.
Morocco will be aiming to continue their strong run in the competition and secure a place in the semifinals with a positive result against Cameroon.
