The 104th ordinary session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media, affiliated with the League of Arab States, opened Tuesday in Kuwait City, with the participation of delegations representing the ministries of information and communication of Arab countries, including Morocco.
The Kingdom is represented at this meeting held in preparation for the 22nd session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers by Mustapha Amdjar, Director of Communication and Public Relations at the Department of Communication of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication.
The meeting aims to discuss a number of media-related issues in the Arab world, as well as projects designed to develop joint Arab media action in light of current developments. Participants are also examining ways to strengthen media support for the Palestinian cause.

On this occasion, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League and Head of the Media and Communication Sector, Ahmed Rachid Khattabi, stressed that the session forms part of the preparations for the 22nd meeting of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, highlighting Kuwait’s commitment to supporting the Arab media system.
He underscored the need to renew and diversify areas of Arab media cooperation, while safeguarding societal values and addressing development and environmental concerns, as well as supporting the Palestinian cause, particularly through protecting Palestinian journalists and their media and digital rights.
Khattabi also called for the implementation of the external media action plan through the involvement of Arab ambassadors councils and Arab League missions to strengthen diplomatic efforts and enhance media solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
Discussions also focus on accelerating executive plans related to the Arab strategy to combat terrorism, developing an Arab media map for Sustainable Development 2030, implementing a media action plan on environmental and climate issues, and promoting a culture of peace and tolerance in partnership with ISESCO.
Kuwait is hosting, on February 10 and 11 respectively, the 104th session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media and the 22nd ordinary session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, in implementation of Resolution No. 579 adopted during the Council’s 55th ordinary session held last November 26.
