Ahead of the elections of members of the House of Representatives, scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2026, the Ministry of Interior announced that local administrative authorities will begin, on Monday, August 24, distributing notices informing voters of the location of their polling station.
The distribution of these notices will continue until Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., the ministry said in a statement.
The notices are intended primarily to inform voters of the location of the polling station to which they are assigned, while reminding them of the date of the election and the opening and closing times of the voting process.
The Ministry of Interior stressed, however, that the notice is not required to exercise the right to vote. The National Identity Card (CNIE) remains the only official document required to prove a voter’s identity on election day.
Proxy voting platform for Moroccans residing abroad
With regard to Moroccan citizens residing abroad (MREs) who are registered on the general electoral rolls, an electronic platform dedicated to establishing voting proxies will also be available from Monday, August 24, until Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at noon (12:00 p.m.).
In accordance with the provisions of Organic Law No. 27.11 on the House of Representatives, the platform will allow each Moroccan voter residing abroad to appoint a voter of their choice, registered on the general electoral roll of a municipality or district in Morocco, to vote on their behalf on election day.
Voters residing abroad will be able to access the platform through www.elections.ma or www.listeselectorales.ma and enter the required information concerning themselves and the voter they have chosen to represent them in Morocco.
After completing and verifying the information, the voter must download the proxy document and send it by email or postal mail to the person authorized to vote on their behalf in Morocco.
The Ministry of Interior’s announcement comes as preparations intensify for the September 23 legislative elections, providing voters with information on their polling stations while facilitating proxy voting procedures for Moroccans residing abroad.
