17th Edition of Bayt Mal Al-Qods Summer Camps: Princess Lalla Meryem Receives Jerusalem Children

On the instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem received on Sunday at the Royal Guest Palace in Rabat the Jerusalem children taking part in the 17th edition of the summer camps organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency.

Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, this initiative by the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency reflects the Sovereign’s steadfast and unwavering support for the Holy City and its inhabitants.

It is part of the Agency’s efforts to support Al-Quds and its residents through a range of projects whose tangible impact directly benefits the people of the Holy City, particularly women, children and people facing difficult circumstances.

Dubbed “Manarat Assalam” (Lighthouse of Peace), this year’s edition, held from August 12 to 26, benefits, as in previous editions, 50 Jerusalem children, boys and girls aged between 11 and 14, accompanied by five supervisors who also came from the Holy City.

The edition featured the organization of the second session of the Summer School in Skhirat, followed by the official program, which includes educational trips, artistic contests, sports competitions and cultural visits alongside Moroccan children.

On this occasion, HRH Princess Lalla Meryem was greeted by Mr. Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, Director in charge of managing the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency, as well as by the supervisors and Jerusalem children taking part in the 17th edition of the summer camps.

Her Royal Highness then posed for a commemorative photograph before presiding over a reception hosted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify Him, in honor of the children.

The Jerusalem children subsequently presented HRH Princess Lalla Meryem with commemorative gifts.

For his part, Mr. Echarkaoui presented Her Royal Highness with a book documenting the 17 previous editions organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency since 2008. These editions benefited a total of 850 children from different neighborhoods of the Holy City, accompanied by 85 supervisors.

Through these programs, the children were able to visit different regions of the Kingdom and witness firsthand the strength of active Moroccan solidarity with the Palestinian people.
