Software testing professionals gathered at Casablanca Technopark on October 3, 2026, to celebrate the tenth edition of the Moroccan Software Testing Day (JMTL). At the heart of the discussions was agentic artificial intelligence, which is reshaping testing practices, professional skills and software quality requirements.
Morocco’s software testing community has reached a significant milestone. Organized by the Moroccan Software Testing Committee (CMTL), the tenth edition of the Moroccan Software Testing Day took place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Casablanca Technopark. Held under the theme “10 Years of Commitment to Quality – Quality Today, Trust Tomorrow,” this anniversary event brought together national and international experts, business representatives, sponsors and digital professionals to discuss the transformation of a discipline that has become strategically important to digital transformation.
Since its launch in 2016, JMTL has progressively established itself as a leading event for Morocco’s software quality community. Its successive editions have attracted more than 1,700 participants, reflecting growing corporate interest in application reliability, IT risk management and the continuous improvement of information systems.
Agentic AI Is Redefining the Software Testing Profession
Opening the event, Anass El Bekali, President of CMTL, highlighted the evolution of software testing over the past decade. Once regarded primarily as a verification stage at the end of the development cycle, software testing has become a strategic tool for building trust, improving performance and managing risks.
The emergence of agentic artificial intelligence is accelerating this transformation. According to the CMTL president, the role of software testers is no longer limited to executing test scenarios or automating checks. It now also involves defining use cases, orchestrating AI agents, analyzing results and ensuring their relevance and reliability.
This evolution places human expertise at the center of the process. Continuous professional development and recognized certifications, including ISTQB, IREB, IQBBA and TMMi, are essential tools for strengthening professional capabilities and preparing the workforce for the market’s changing requirements.
Eight Conferences Exploring Innovation and Practical Experience
The program gave considerable attention to the practical applications of artificial intelligence in software testing. Eight conferences enabled speakers to share their experiences, methodologies and perspectives on the future of software quality.
Olivier Denoo, ISTQB Vice President, CFTL President and Vice President at ps_testware, opened the conference program with a presentation on user experience entitled “Heureux qui comme UX!”
Samia Daouiji, Test Manager at Capgemini Morocco, shared insights into the transition from software tester to orchestrator of AI agents. Khalid Amnas, Project Director and Delivery Manager at Omnishore, presented a Moroccan case study of an AI-enhanced Testing Factory, highlighting the importance of structuring processes without restricting innovation.
Bruno Legeard, co-founder of Smartesting, examined how agentic test execution could affect Test Factories and organizations specializing in the industrialization of testing activities.
The afternoon sessions broadened the discussion to the human and organizational dimensions of quality. Laurent Delannoy, President of the adapted employment enterprise Avencod, highlighted the contribution of diversity to collective performance.
Representatives of Cegid Atlas—Ingrid Terreau, Agile Transformation Coach; Younes Zniber, R&D Director, Enterprise; and Taha Slaoui, R&D Director, Retail—explained how artificial intelligence is helping transform quality practices within the company.
Eric Riou du Cosquer, TMMi Lead Assessor and CEO of Certilog, explored the use of AI in requirements reviews, from user stories to prompts, through the IREB AI4RE approach. Finally, Eric Bourdin, France Manager at GASQ, encouraged participants to look beyond the AI hype and examine its potential to transform learning and working methods.
“World’s Best Tester”: Celebrating Moroccan Talent
Another highlight of the tenth edition was the awards ceremony for the “World’s Best Tester” competition, which recognized the top performers in the Moroccan competition. The initiative is organized in partnership with an international competition present across six continents.
The team TheSafeOne, represented by Ilyass Safwane, took first place with a score of 109 out of 130. Mint Tea Testers, comprising Assiya Benramdane and Jean-Baptiste Crouigneau, ranked second with 103.5 points. BugHuntersMA, represented by Ayoub Koddam and Pierre Monfort, completed the podium with 100 points.
Alone, represented by Mohsine Zekraoui and Abdennour Ettuijer, and Cosmora, represented by Anitha Thavasiappan, finished fourth and fifth, with 98.7 and 95 points respectively.
The two top Moroccan finishers qualified to continue the competition at the international level, ahead of the world final scheduled for December 2, 2026.
The day concluded with a raffle and celebrations marking JMTL’s tenth anniversary, recognizing the professionals, partners and organizations contributing to the development of software quality in Morocco.
A Growing Software Testing Certification Ecosystem
Founded in 2013, the Moroccan Software Testing Committee is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting software testing and raising awareness among businesses of the importance of information systems quality.
Since July 4, 2014, CMTL has been the official representative of ISTQB in Morocco and has been involved in certification and accreditation activities relating to ISTQB, IREB and IQBBA. Since October 2022, it has also served as the local chapter of the TMMi Foundation.
At the end of the second quarter of 2026, Morocco had 2,136 ISTQB Foundation Level-certified professionals, representing a 19% increase year on year. This growth illustrates the progressive development of national expertise in a field essential to digital service reliability and business competitiveness.
For this anniversary edition, CMTL received support from Omnishore and Capgemini as Partner Sponsors; Cegid, Smartesting and GASQ as Platinum Sponsors; Avencod, Docaposte and IN Groupe as Gold Sponsors; and AXA GBS, HPS, Progideo and QSI Conseil as Silver Sponsors.
After ten years of commitment, JMTL confirms the growing importance of software testing in Morocco’s digital economy. In an environment shaped by agentic artificial intelligence, the challenge is now to combine automation, human expertise and risk management to build more reliable information systems and strengthen digital trust over the long term.
