A new addendum to the partnership agreement between the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports and Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arabe was signed on Monday in Rabat, as part of efforts to strengthen the integration of digital technologies in the national education system.

The addendum was signed by the Director of Educational and Digital Resources at the Ministry, Ms. Ilham Laaziz, and the President of Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arabe, Mr. Hong Seok Lee. It aligns with the 2022-2026 roadmap objectives, aiming to encourage innovation and consolidate the use of digital technologies in teaching.

The signing ceremony also included the award presentation to the winners of the second edition of the national Python programming competition, organized by the Ministry in partnership with Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arabe, with twelve teams representing different regions of the Kingdom. The team from the Drâa-Tafilalet region won first prize, followed by the teams from Rabat-Salé-Kénitra and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra for second and third place.

In a speech read on his behalf by the Ministry’s Acting Secretary-General, Mr. Houcine Keddad, the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mr. Mohamed Saad Berrada, highlighted that this initiative is part of the Samsung Innovation Campus project, aimed at enhancing teachers’ skills in programming and artificial intelligence (AI). In 2025, the project trained and certified over 261 teachers in these areas.

The Minister emphasized the pioneering nature of this partnership in supporting digital teaching and learning, and the Ministry’s commitment to continuing the Samsung Innovation Campus project through the new addendum, which will allow additional certified training for teachers, particularly in AI.

For his part, Mr. Hong Seok Lee stressed that the Samsung Innovation Campus is a cornerstone of the strategic partnership with the Ministry, enabling thousands of students across the Kingdom to access modern technologies and develop their digital skills.

Launched in 2019, the program has trained and certified over 2,000 teachers in Python programming, including 780 directly by Samsung and 1,273 through regional training centers.
