Tesla Officially Launches in Morocco with First Retail Presence in Casablanca

American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has officially launched its operations in Morocco, marking a strategic step as it establishes its initial physical presence on the African continent. The announcement came as Tesla inaugurated its first retail location in Casablanca on February 6, 2026.

The opening took place at the AnfaPlace Mall, where the company showcased its most popular models, the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, now available for Moroccan customers to view and configure via Tesla’s online configurator. This configuration tool activated simultaneously with the launch allows buyers to personalize and order vehicles directly in Morocco, bypassing traditional dealership structures in favor of Tesla’s direct‑to‑customer approach.

Tesla’s entry into Morocco also reflects its global expansion strategy. Prices for the Model 3 start at approximately MAD 389,990, while the Model Y begins around MAD 419,990 for certain versions, making the vehicles competitively positioned for local demand.

Tesla’s official presence is supported by an existing network of Supercharger stations, which have been gradually deployed in Morocco since 2021. Today, the Supercharger network includes fast charging locations operating 24/7 in cities such as Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Fès, Agadir and Tangier, all designed to support long‑distance travel and expand electric mobility across the kingdom.

The launch event in Casablanca also allowed the public to meet Tesla representatives, explore technologies, and learn more about electric vehicle ownership and charging solutions — further embedding Tesla’s brand in the Moroccan automotive market.

Tesla Morocco, the company’s local subsidiary, was established in May 2025 with a capital of approximately MAD 27.5 million and is headquartered in the Casablanca Marina district. It manages vehicle import, sales, servicing, and the rollout of energy products like stationary battery storage and solar solutions, signaling long‑term investment in Morocco as a key hub for future African operations.

This first retail presence is a milestone for both Tesla and the Moroccan market, highlighting Morocco’s growing importance as a gateway for clean energy and sustainable transportation in Africa.
