U.S. President Trump Links Economic Support to Orbán’s Electoral Success

U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Friday that he is ready to support the Hungarian economy if Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wins the parliamentary elections scheduled for Sunday.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, the U.S. president said his administration would be willing to deploy “the full economic power of the United States” to strengthen Hungary’s economy, should Orbán’s government and the Hungarian people require it.

Donald Trump also expressed enthusiasm about investing in Hungary’s future prosperity, suggesting it would be strengthened by the continuation of Orbán’s leadership.

This statement comes amid recent diplomatic engagements between the two countries. U.S. Vice President JD Vance visited Hungary earlier this week to reaffirm Washington’s support for Orbán’s government, highlighting the strong bilateral partnership.

Earlier in February, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also traveled to Budapest, where he wished Orbán success ahead of the elections.
