The regional committee of the Souss-Massa Innovation City (CISM) held its 18th session on Monday in Agadir, aimed at reviewing ongoing projects within the center, which brings together a research hub and an incubator for innovative startups.
Twelve innovative projects across various fields were approved during the meeting, chaired by the Wali of the Souss-Massa region and Governor of the Agadir-Ida-Outanane Prefecture, Saïd Amzazi, in the presence of representatives from regional and local institutions as well as actors from the economic and academic sectors.
The approved projects include the development of a digital platform for mental health monitoring, innovative technological solutions for natural pollination improvement by bees, mobile game development, next-generation cybersecurity solutions, an advanced energy measurement and monitoring platform to track energy consumption and generator loads, and a platform for monitoring the quality of agricultural products.
The session also approved the internal regulations of CISM’s Research and Development Committee. In his remarks, M. Amzazi highlighted the importance of this regulatory framework for promoting innovative projects, research, and their practical implementation.
The meeting provided an opportunity to showcase scientific research results and connect them to the economic and industrial sectors of the region. Young project leaders presented their ideas and benefited from expert advice and guidance, ensuring their projects’ success and integration into the regional economic fabric.
Inaugurated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in February 2020, the Souss-Massa Innovation City serves as both a research center and a startup incubator designed to energize the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, offering an environment conducive to innovation and business development.
