Mehdi Tazi and Mohamed Bachiri officially announce their candidacy to lead the CGEM

A new chapter is opening within Morocco’s business community. Mehdi Tazi and Mohamed Bachiri have officially declared their joint candidacy for the leadership of the CGEM (General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises).

This duo is entering the race to succeed the current leadership, marking the first confirmed candidacy for the upcoming elections.

Mehdi Tazi, currently serving as Vice-President of the CGEM, is a well-established figure within the organization, with extensive experience in finance and business strategy.

Mohamed Bachiri, Managing Director of Renault Group Morocco and a key figure in the country’s automotive industry, brings strong industrial expertise. He also previously served as interim head of the CGEM in 2019.

Their alliance combines two complementary profiles:

  • Finance and strategic leadership (Tazi).
  • Industrial and operational expertise (Bachiri).

Together, they aim to strengthen Moroccan industry, improve business competitiveness, and continue developing the private sector.

According to available information, their candidacy file is in the final stages and will be submitted shortly. The election is scheduled to take place in May, with candidacies open until early April.
