BENTELER Strengthens Morocco’s Automotive Industry with High-Tech Plant in Kenitra

German group BENTELER is strengthening its presence in Morocco’s automotive industrial ecosystem with the opening of a new plant in the Atlantic Free Zone in Kenitra. The facility features advanced industrial equipment and is expected to create more than 300 direct jobs, further supporting Morocco’s integration into global automotive value chains.

The group launched the project in June 2025 before officially opening the plant in July 2026 as part of a multi-stage investment program. The site covers approximately 50,000 square meters, including around 17,000 square meters of industrial buildings and facilities.

BENTELER selected Kenitra to benefit from its established automotive ecosystem, proximity to vehicle manufacturers and access to major transport and logistics networks.

Advanced Technology Supporting Automotive Manufacturing

The plant features advanced industrial equipment, including a 3,200-ton cold-forming press, robotic welding systems, 3D laser technology and an electrophoretic coating, or cataphoretic, system. Production includes components designed primarily for vehicle structures, including front and rear bumpers, torsion-beam axles, impact bars and suspension arms.

The facility was also designed around smart factory and Industry 4.0 principles, using digital solutions to improve productivity, quality and industrial process traceability. The project is expected to create more than 300 direct jobs, in addition to indirect employment opportunities within the supplier network and related industrial services.

The investment further confirms Kenitra’s attractiveness to major automotive manufacturers and component suppliers as Morocco continues to increase local integration and industrial added value.

It also reflects the transformation of Morocco’s industrial base, moving beyond conventional production facilities toward factories built around automation, digitalization and advanced manufacturing technologies.
