Morocco welcomed 15.7 million tourists during the first nine months of 2026, representing a 5% increase year on year and an additional 717,000 visitors.
In September alone, tourist arrivals exceeded 1.5 million, up 8% compared with the same month in 2025. These results reflect continued momentum in Morocco’s tourism sector, supporting activity across accommodation, transport, restaurants and leisure services.
Morocco remains on track towards its 26 million tourist target for 2030
The increase in arrivals reinforces tourism’s contribution to the national economy through employment, investment and business activity across the Kingdom’s regions. The challenge now is to convert higher visitor numbers into sustainable economic returns by diversifying tourism products, improving service quality and strengthening air connectivity.
Business tourism, heritage promotion and the development of regional destinations also offer opportunities for growth. Morocco aims to welcome 26 million tourists by 2030.
Achieving this target will require continued investment in accommodation capacity, destination competitiveness and visitor experience, while ensuring that the economic benefits are more widely distributed across regions and industry participants.
