CFCIM and the French Embassy Strengthen Economic Mobility and Investment Between Morocco and France

The Embassy of France in Morocco and the CFCIM signed a series of agreements on Thursday in Casablanca aimed at enhancing professional mobility, strengthening the Chamber’s institutional anchoring, and boosting economic outreach between Morocco and France.

The signing ceremony, chaired by the French Ambassador to Morocco, Christophe Lecourtier, was attended by Moroccan and French officials, representatives of the French institutional network in Morocco, and members of the CFCIM board. The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to consolidate bilateral economic cooperation, particularly in support of SMEs and mid-sized companies.

A first agreement, signed by Ambassador Lecourtier and Sébastien Le Bonté, President of CFCIM, concerns the renewal of the lease for premises owned by the French Treasury that house the Chamber’s historic headquarters in Casablanca. Concluded for a nine-year term, the agreement reflects a long-term commitment and reinforces CFCIM’s institutional and operational role within the French network in Morocco.

Two additional agreements were signed between CFCIM and the Consulates General of France in Casablanca and Rabat, represented respectively by Aymeric Chuzeville and Olivier Ramadour. These agreements provide dedicated professional visa appointment slots for CFCIM members, ensuring a secure and streamlined framework to facilitate economic mobility between the two countries.

Another agreement was signed with Agnès Humruzian, Director General of the Institut français au Maroc, to promote cultural programming and French language courses for businesses. This partnership highlights the complementarity between economic and cultural diplomacy, notably through the “IF Maroc Pro” service, which offers specialized language training tailored to companies’ needs.

In his remarks to the press, Ambassador Lecourtier underscored the French government’s confidence in CFCIM and recalled the renewal of the “Team France Export” public service delegation between the Chamber and Business France, emphasizing the strategic role of SMEs in shaping the future of Franco-Moroccan economic relations.

The ceremony also featured the announcement of the creation of the Maison de l’Exportateur et de l’Investisseur Français au Maroc (MEIF), a one-stop shop designed to simplify, secure, and accelerate investment and development projects for French companies operating or seeking to expand in Morocco.
