Marsa Maroc recently signed a management contract with the National Port Authority of Liberia to operate two berths at Monrovia Port, marking an important milestone in its international expansion and in modernizing Liberia’s port infrastructure.
Following an international tender, the Moroccan group through its subsidiary Marsa Maroc International Logistics (MMIL) was selected to rehabilitate the docks, provide port equipment, and implement its expertise in bulk handling. The project is set to be operational by the first half of 2026.
This contract represents the first step of a strategic partnership between Marsa Maroc and the Liberian Port Authority, which could later lead to a concession agreement for a new multipurpose terminal at Monrovia Port, a key hub in Liberia’s maritime economy.
Monrovia Port, Liberia’s main deep-water port, is essential for import-export operations. This project is expected to strengthen its operational efficiency, improve logistical competitiveness, and support the country’s economic development.
