The Association Council between the Kingdom of Morocco and the European Union (EU) convened its 15th session in Brussels today, a key meeting aimed at strengthening and advancing the strategic partnership between the two parties.
The session is co-chaired by Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, and Kaja Kallas, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The European delegation also includes the Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, along with several EU member state ministers, highlighting the high level of attention given to this event.
This session, taking place in a shifting geopolitical context, provides an opportunity to review bilateral cooperation across multiple areas: political, security, economic, energy, digital, and mobility. It also allows for exchanges on key regional and international issues of common interest.
The Morocco‑EU Association Agreement, in force since 1996, forms the cornerstone of this unique partnership. The 15th session aims to assess the current state of the partnership, identify new opportunities for collaboration, and outline a framework for an even more ambitious and integrated relationship in the coming years.
