Morocco will be honored at the upcoming edition of the international photography festival “ValenciaPhoto”, scheduled to start on May 7 in Valencia, southeastern Spain.

This participation will highlight the richness and diversity of the Moroccan photography scene through a varied program that includes exhibitions, screenings, conferences, and professional meetings.

Several major Moroccan photography institutions and actors will take part in the event, including the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rabat, the Rencontres de Rabat (Moroccan Association of Photographic Art), and the Marrakech Photography Meetings.

This presence is part of a close institutional cooperation between ValenciaPhoto, the Consulate General of Morocco in Valencia, the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), and the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rabat.

According to Said Drissi El Bouzaidi, Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in the Valencia region:

“Morocco’s participation as Guest of Honor at ValenciaPhoto represents a major opportunity to showcase the vitality and creativity of contemporary Moroccan photography while strengthening cultural exchanges across the Mediterranean.”

ValenciaPhoto serves as a meeting place for photographers, exhibition curators, theorists of image and aesthetics, historians, gallery owners, and publishers. Through photography, the festival offers different perspectives and ways to understand a constantly evolving world, aiming to promote culture, creativity, and the development of artists.
