Tangier–Tetouan–Al Hoceima: School classes remain suspended at the start of the week

Provincial directorates of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education and Sports in the Tangier–Tetouan–Al Hoceima region have decided to maintain the suspension of classes in several public and private schools due to ongoing adverse weather conditions affecting northern Morocco.

Classes have been suspended on February 9 in the prefectures of Tangier-Assilah and M’diq-Fnideq, as well as in the provinces of Ouezzane and Fahs-Anjra. In Tetouan and Chefchaouen, the suspension will remain in effect on February 9 and 10, given the persistence of severe weather.

In Larache province, schools located within the municipality of Ksar El Kébir have shifted to remote learning starting Monday, with the measure remaining in place until weather conditions improve and official instructions are issued by the relevant authorities.

In Al Hoceima province, in-person classes have resumed in several municipalities, including Al Hoceima, Ajdir, Imzouren and Bni Bouayach, while schools in other municipalities will continue to observe the suspension on February 9.

The provincial directorates stressed that these measures follow the weather alert issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology and the recommendations of provincial monitoring committees, in coordination with local authorities, to ensure the safety of students and educational staff.
