Trump Says Talks with Iran “Going Very Well”

U.S. President Donald Trump stated Thursday that ongoing negotiations with Iran aimed at ending the war “are going very well,” dismissing media reports suggesting otherwise.

Speaking on his social platform Truth Social, Trump wrote: “The negotiations continue, and despite false claims to the contrary published by misleading media and other sources, they are going very well.”

In a move signaling a temporary de-escalation, the president announced he is postponing his ultimatum for potential U.S. strikes against Iranian power plants until 6 April. “At the request of the Iranian government (…) I am suspending for ten days the destruction of power plants until Monday, 6 April, at 8:00 p.m. Washington time,” Trump said.

Earlier in a Cabinet meeting, the president claimed Iran is “begging” the United States to reach a deal to end hostilities, urging Tehran negotiators to “get serious before it’s too late.”

Trump also highlighted Iran’s recent concession, allowing ten oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, describing the move as a “gift” as part of indirect discussions with the U.S.

The developments reflect ongoing high-stakes diplomacy, with Washington and Tehran seeking a resolution amid regional tensions and international scrutiny.
