The Kingdom of Morocco is set to return to standard time (GMT) on Sunday, February 15, 2026, by turning clocks back one hour at 3:00 a.m. This adjustment comes just a few days before the expected start of the holy month of Ramadan, around February 19, 2026.
This temporary switch to GMT, which replaces the daylight saving time (GMT+1) observed most of the year, aims to facilitate daily fasting schedules, work hours, and prayer times during the holy month. Morocco will revert to daylight saving time (GMT+1) after the end of Ramadan, following the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
This annual adjustment allows Moroccans to better balance daily life and religious obligations, aligning sunrise and sunset hours with daily activities.
