Morocco strengthens Global AI collaboration at New Delhi Summit

Morocco participates in the Global Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit, officially inaugurated Thursday in New Delhi by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Kingdom is represented by a high-level delegation led by the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, accompanied by the Moroccan Ambassador to India, Mohamed Maliki.

This participation is part of Morocco’s ongoing policy of openness and international cooperation, in line with the High Directives of King Mohammed VI, aimed at strengthening South-South cooperation and sharing expertise in innovation and digital technologies for inclusive and sustainable development.

Organized under the theme “Well-being for All, Happiness for All,” the summit serves as an international platform for discussions on the future of AI and its governance, with the ambition of integrating the priorities of Global South countries. According to the Indian government, the AI Impact Summit aims to turn dialogue into concrete impact, promoting human-centered and sustainable AI development.

The event brings together over 100 government representatives, including 20 heads of state and government, 60 ministers and deputy ministers, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, and 500 global AI leaders, academics, and researchers.

During the inauguration, Narendra Modi emphasized that AI represents a major transformation and stressed the need to democratize this technology to make it a tool for inclusion and empowerment.

Emmanuel Macron added that AI will help accelerate progress in health, energy, mobility, agriculture, and public services, while calling for the protection of children from digital abuse related to AI.

António Guterres, in turn, highlighted the importance of strengthening skills and data capabilities to prevent some countries from being left behind in the AI era, underlining the need for inclusive ecosystems.

Other speakers included Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet, and Dario Amodei, head of Anthropic.

During the summit, Minister Seghrouchni participated in various sessions on global AI trends and exchanged with several international experts on opportunities for cooperation in digital innovation.
