Amazon to Invest €15 Billion in France Between 2026 and 2028, Creating 7,000 Jobs

U.S. e-commerce giant Amazon has announced a €15 billion investment plan in France covering the 2026–2028 period, marking its largest financial commitment in the country to date.

The investment is expected to create around 7,000 permanent jobs across the national territory, according to a company statement. Amazon currently employs approximately 25,000 people in France.

According to Jean-Baptiste Thomas, this initiative reflects strong confidence in the resilience of the French economy and represents “the largest investment ever made by the company in France.”

The plan focuses primarily on expanding logistics infrastructure, with the opening of four new distribution centers. Three sites located in Illiers-Combray, Beauvais, and Colombier-Saugnieu are scheduled to become operational in 2026, while a fourth site in Ensisheim near Mulhouse is planned for 2027.

Amazon already operates eight logistics hubs in France, and the company states that this expansion aims to improve delivery times, strengthen national coverage, and support local purchasing power by maintaining competitive prices.

Beyond logistics, the group also plans to further develop its technological activities through its subsidiary Amazon Web Services, with a focus on cloud computing and artificial intelligence solutions for businesses and public institutions.

Present in France since 2010, Amazon reports having already invested around €30 billion in the country across infrastructure, technology, and operations.
