Council of Europe: Morocco takes part in autumn session of PACE

The work of the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), the fourth and final plenary session of the 2026 term, opened Monday at the Palace of Europe in Strasbourg, with Morocco’s participation.

Debates are focused notably on the growing threats to media pluralism and independence and on ensuring the implementation of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, as well as on the role of diasporas and migrants in strengthening social cohesion and democratic engagement.

The agenda also includes joint debates on a coherent European policy for veterans and on the role of the OECD in assessing the impact of artificial intelligence on the future of work, in addition to a general policy debate on the theme “Europe, the fastest-warming continent: accelerating climate action with young people”.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe holds four ordinary plenary sessions each year, bringing together parliamentarians from the 46 member states of the Council of Europe, as well as representatives of observer countries and other partners.

The Kingdom takes part in PACE sessions in its capacity as a Partner for Democracy with the Council of Europe, a status it has held since 2011.
