ONMT Hosts Selectair Annual Congress in Tamuda Bay

The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) is hosting Belgium’s leading travel agency network, Selectair, for its annual meeting from September 30 to October 4, 2026, in Tamuda Bay.

“Morocco confirms its attractiveness to Belgian tourism professionals. In partnership with ONMT, Selectair, the leading network of travel agencies in Belgium, is relocating its annual congress to Tamuda Bay this year, from September 30 to October 4, 2026,” the Office said in a statement.

The event will bring together nearly 90 agencies and all the network’s main partners, the same source said, noting that this operation is part of the growth dynamics of the Belgian market and the strategy to develop sales to Morocco.

This event is all the more important as the Belgian market has become strategic for Morocco since it crossed the symbolic threshold of one million tourists in 2025.

This choice is a strong signal of the place that Morocco now occupies in the development strategies of major players in Belgian tourism distribution.

It also reflects Selectair’s desire to strengthen its agencies’ knowledge of the destination and create new business opportunities around its offering.

With 88 independent agencies and 320 employees, mainly based in Flanders, Selectair represents a particularly structuring network for the Belgian market.

The network generated nearly 310 million euros in turnover in 2025, an average of around 3.5 million euros per agency.

This year’s congress brings together the network’s travel agents and members of its board of directors, including Martine Dewispelaere, who has been president of Selectair since March 2026.

The event also brings together the network’s main partners, including TUI Belgium, Digitrips, Live To Travel, Imagine Travel, Silverjet, Pegase, 7plus, Travelworld, Odysseus, Travel Sensations, Brussels Airport, Getflights, Amadeus, MSC Cruises, RIU Hotels, TravelNote, Sunny Cars and Allianz Partners.

VVR, Vereniging Vlaamse Reisbureaus, which represents and supports Flemish travel agencies, will also take part in the congress through its president.

Beyond the professional meeting, hosting this congress by ONMT constitutes a real promotion and business development operation for the destination.

The presence, for several days, of the main players in Belgian distribution offers the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of the Moroccan offering, to highlight new territories and to showcase a destination capable of responding to a diversity of demands, from beach holidays to cultural experiences, including luxury, tailor-made travel and discovery experiences.

The choice of Tamuda Bay fully participates in this approach.

By focusing on the North of the Kingdom, the Office intends to broaden Belgian professionals’ perception of the Morocco destination and further integrate the northern territories into the travel proposals marketed by distribution networks.

This dynamic comes as the Belgian market continues to grow.

In 2025, Morocco welcomed 1.2 million tourists from Belgium, up 10% from 2024.

By the end of July 2026, more than 834,000 Belgian tourist arrivals had already been recorded, an 8% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

This trajectory confirms the potential of the Belgian market in pursuing the Kingdom’s tourism growth.

Selectair’s commitment will extend beyond the congress.

The network plans a major digital and press campaign dedicated to Morocco, with the destination featured across all its media, editorial articles, dedicated content on social media, newsletters and digital advertising.

The professional media TravelMedia BeLux, Belgium’s leading specialized media, will also cover the event with communication deployed before, during and after the congress.

For ONMT, this mobilization responds to a precise objective: to transform the destination’s visibility into concrete business opportunities and consolidate distribution networks that play a decisive role in travelers’ choices.

The relationship established with Selectair is thus part of a long-term approach, based on proximity to professionals, knowledge of the offering and activation of various sales levers.

With a target of 1.4 million Belgian tourist arrivals in 2026 and the ambition to reach 2 million Belgian tourists by 2030, Morocco intends to continue its development in this strategic market.

Hosting the Selectair congress in Tamuda Bay adds a new dimension to this ambition by combining training, destination experience, commercial activation and media visibility.

A concrete way for Morocco to make the Belgian network an even more active relay of the diversity of its offering and its tourism ambition, the statement concludes.
