Morocco aims to increase its annual aerospace exports from $3 billion to $5 billion within three years, reflecting the Kingdom’s ambition to strengthen its position in global value chains.
According to Reuters, this growth target is underpinned by the development of domestic industrial capabilities and a shift towards more sophisticated, higher-value-added activities.
The sector comprises approximately 160 companies and employs around 25,000 people, making it an important component of Morocco’s export-oriented industrial ecosystem.
Industrial upgrading at the heart of the sector’s strategy
Achieving this target will require the development of specialized skills, stronger production capacity and a transition from manufacturing basic components to producing more complex systems and equipment. Morocco is seeking to enhance its attractiveness to major international manufacturers while diversifying the range of industrial activities established in the country.
Reaching $5 billion in exports would mark a new milestone for the sector, with success depending on investment, technical training and the ability of local companies to meet international quality and competitiveness requirements.
