In Rabat, members of the Morocco Green Hydrogen Investment Committee, chaired by the Minister of Investment, Convergence, and Policy Evaluation Karim Zidane, validated a major milestone in the realization of the green hydrogen project.
This fifth session, held in the presence of Nizar Baraka, Minister of Equipment and Water, and Leila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, approved the results of the studies as well as all commitments made by the consortium TotalEnergies – CIP – A.P. Moller Capital.
These commitments fall within the framework of the contract signed between Morocco and the industrial consortium during a ceremony chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron.
A Structuring Collective Momentum
Beyond this key validation, the meeting also reviewed progress in discussions with the five other investors selected under the Morocco Green Hydrogen Initiative. These exchanges are conducted under the supervision of the Steering Committee, chaired by the Head of Government, and accompanied by technical follow-up from a sub-committee dedicated to infrastructure.
The strong mobilization around this project is based on a broad collective dynamic. MASEN, as Secretary of the Investment Committee and focal point for the Morocco Green Hydrogen Initiative, plays a central role in coordinating between the various public and private actors.
The ONEE (Water Branch), the National Ports Agency (ANP), relevant ministerial departments, and technical partners are actively involved in developing the frameworks necessary for the implementation of the program.
