The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), in partnership with the Ibdaa Academy for Research and Teaching of the Arabic Language in Belgium, launched on Wednesday a training program dedicated to research and the teaching of the Arabic language.
The program aims to strengthen the skills of more than 50 professors, teachers, researchers and other professionals interested in teaching Arabic in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom. The workshops will continue until May 2027.
On this occasion, the President of the Ibdaa Academy, Ahmed Ouzzine, stressed that cooperation with ICESCO aims to durably strengthen scientific and educational ties between institutions, experts and Arab professionals working in Europe in the field of Arabic language teaching.
For his part, the Director of ICESCO’s Arabic Language Centre, Majdi Hajj Ibrahim, highlighted the importance of continuous teacher training. He noted that the choice of topics such as didactics, pedagogy and artificial intelligence reflects a deep awareness of the transformations currently taking place in the education sector.
The program is built around three major pillars: the teaching of the Arabic language, didactics and pedagogy, and artificial intelligence. It is based on the principle that continuous teacher training is an essential lever for improving the quality of Arabic language education.
Particular attention is also given to artificial intelligence, seen as a promising tool that can be used responsibly to design activities, develop educational resources and analyze learners’ mistakes.
The workshops will be held every Wednesday and Thursday throughout the program. They will be jointly led by experts from ICESCO and the Ibdaa Academy, who will support participants in improving teaching practices, designing activities and resources, and using modern technologies in Arabic language education.
