Kuwait: Ms. Seghrouchni Highlights Morocco’s Progress on Gender Equality in Public Administration

The Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Public Administration Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, highlighted on Wednesday in Kuwait the tangible progress Morocco has made in promoting gender equality within public administration.

Speaking at the second International Forum on Digital Cooperation, held on the sidelines of the 5th General Assembly of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), Ms. Seghrouchni also emphasized the strategy to consolidate gender equality, implemented for over a decade with the support of UN Women.

During a session focusing on “The Role of Women in the Digital Economy as a Driver of Peace, Resilience, and Inclusive Prosperity,” the minister noted that gender equality in Morocco is built on strong structural reforms, including intersectoral governance, adoption of gender-disaggregated data, equitable access to leadership positions, implementation of work-life balance measures, and capacity-building programs for female civil servants.

Ms. Seghrouchni added that this strong institutional foundation now underpins Morocco’s two national visions, “AI Made in Morocco” and “Morocco Digital 2030”, placing women at the center of digital governance and artificial intelligence initiatives.

At the regional level, the minister highlighted initiatives such as the “African Women in Technology and AI” program, the Women Leadership in AI program, and the Digital Hub for Sustainable Development (D4SD), showing that women are not merely beneficiaries of digital transformation but actively contribute to shaping its future.

The minister also praised the joint initiative by the Digital Cooperation Organization, the ASEAN and East Asia Economic Institute, and UN Women, stressing the importance of placing women at the heart of digital transformations to strengthen trust, inclusion, and stability.
