Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch announced on Thursday that Morocco will return to its legal time zone (GMT) at the end of this summer.
The decision comes in response to citizens’ expectations and follows discussions held within the governing majority, Mr. Akhannouch said in a statement to the press after the Government Council meeting.
According to the Head of Government, the measure is intended to address concerns related to the additional hour (GMT+1) currently observed in the country. He emphasized that the decision reflects the government’s responsiveness to citizens’ demands and its commitment to addressing issues raised by the public.
Mr. Akhannouch noted that the return to GMT forms part of the government’s broader efforts to interact constructively with citizens’ concerns and improve daily life conditions.
