Yassin Halhoul Appointed President of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Morocco

The Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Morocco (SCCM) announced on January 16 in Casablanca the appointment of Yassin Halhoul as the new president of the institution, marking the beginning of a new phase in economic relations between Morocco and Switzerland.

He succeeds Christophe de Figueiredo, who stepped down from his position to pursue new professional projects. The Board of Directors praised the commitment of his predecessor, particularly the structural reforms and the expansion of the Chamber’s activities throughout his term. De Figueiredo will continue to support the SCCM as Honorary President, ensuring a degree of institutional continuity.

Yassin Halhoul, a Moroccan-Swiss national, is an entrepreneur active in both Switzerland and Morocco. His in-depth knowledge of the two economies is seen as a major asset in opening new avenues for cooperation and creating concrete economic opportunities for the Chamber’s member companies.

The new mandate will focus on several key priorities, including:

  • Strengthening bilateral business relations between Switzerland and Morocco.

  • Developing new economic opportunities for SCCM members.

  • Enhancing the role of the SCCM as a reference platform for Moroccan-Swiss cooperation.

  • Improving the visibility of the initiatives and services offered by the Chamber.

The SCCM reaffirms its commitment to continuing its role in supporting businesses, encouraging partnerships, and actively contributing to stronger economic ties between the two countries. This appointment comes within a dynamic context of Moroccan-Swiss economic relations, characterized by cross-investments and growing interest from stakeholders in both markets.
