The Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education and Sports in Tanger–Assilah announced on Tuesday the exceptional suspension of classes in all public and private educational institutions across the prefecture on Wednesday, February 4, due to ongoing weather disturbances.
In a statement, the Provincial Directorate said the decision aims to ensure the safety of students, as well as administrative and teaching staff, adding that the situation will be continuously updated in line with the evolution of weather conditions.
This measure follows Weather Alert Bulletin No. 2026/33 issued on February 2 by the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM), and comes amid persistent adverse weather conditions. The decision is also part of the implementation of the recommendations of the Provincial Monitoring Committee, in coordination with local authorities.
It is worth noting that provincial directorates in Ouezzane, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, M’diq-Fnideq, Fahs-Anjra and Larache have also announced partial or total suspension of classes, on an exceptional basis, from Monday through Wednesday, with updates depending on weather developments.
