The Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange alert warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms with a risk of hail, and strong wind gusts on Thursday, February 6, and Friday, February 7, 2026, in several Moroccan provinces.
According to the DGM, the heaviest rainfall (60–90 mm) is expected from Thursday at 12:00 PM to Friday at 11:00 PM in Chefchaouen, Tétouan, Larache, Al Hoceima, and Taza. Moderate rainfall will affect Taounate and Ouezzane (40–60 mm) as well as Kénitra, Sefrou, Fès, Sidi Kacem, Béni Mellal, Meknès, Tanger-Assilah, M’Diq-Fnideq, Moulay Yacoub, Fahs-Anjra, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Khénifra, Khémisset, and Sidi Slimane (30–40 mm).
In addition, strong wind gusts (75–85 km/h) are expected:

Thursday, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, across several provinces in northern, central, and southern Morocco.

Friday, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the phenomenon will also affect other provinces, including areas in the High Atlas, Rif, and Oriental regions.
The DGM urges residents and drivers to take necessary precautions, avoid flood-prone areas, and follow regular weather updates.
