Morocco Takes Part in the IEA 2026 Ministerial Meeting in Paris

Morocco is taking part in the 2026 Ministerial Meeting of the International Energy Agency (IEA), held on Wednesday and Thursday at the headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development in Paris.

The Moroccan delegation is led by the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development and includes senior officials from the ministry. The meeting aims to review the Agency’s achievements and address key global energy challenges and future outlooks.

Morocco joined the IEA family as an associate country in 2016, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening international cooperation and advancing a sustainable energy transition.

Chaired by Dutch Deputy Prime Minister Sophie Hermans, the biennial ministerial meeting brings together energy ministers from IEA member and associate countries. Discussions focus on recent developments in energy markets and policies, as well as their implications for energy security, affordability, and sustainability.

In addition to ministers, CEOs from the energy sector and other industries, leaders of international organizations, and civil society representatives are taking part in the event.

Key highlights include a high-level dialogue on energy security in the age of electricity, as well as plenary sessions dedicated to investment in secure, affordable, and sustainable energy systems and enhanced global cooperation to strengthen resilience and sustainability in the energy sector.
