Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health (FM6SS) signed a framework cooperation agreement in aviation medicine this Thursday in Rabat.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Abdelhamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, and Prof. Lahcen Belyamani, Chairman and CEO of FM6SS. This agreement is part of RAM’s strategic development plan through 2037 and aims to strengthen high-level national expertise in service of aviation safety.
It seeks to support the reinforcement of the airline’s Flight Personnel and ensure their access to specialized medical care, in accordance with national and international standards, including those of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
A Center Dedicated to Aviation Medicine
Under this partnership, FM6SS will establish an Aviation Medicine Center affiliated with the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Bouskoura.
The center will manage the regulatory medical examinations of RAM’s Flight Personnel (entry, renewal, return-to-duty, and additional assessments) required for the issuance of medical fitness certificates.
This facility will provide Flight Personnel with a smooth, specialized, and secure medical pathway, aligned with the operational requirements of a rapidly expanding airline, while also contributing to the development of national capacity in aviation medicine.
A Partnership in Service of Flight Safety
Based on a strictly civil, medical, and academic framework, this collaboration helps develop national expertise in aviation medicine while respecting the prerogatives of the competent authorities and the sovereign missions of the state.
Mr. Abdelhamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, stated:
“The growth of Royal Air Maroc, driven by a program to quadruple its fleet and expand its Flight Personnel to nearly 10,000 by 2037, is part of a strategic vision supporting Morocco’s influence and connectivity. This growth comes with high demands for operational safety and reliability. Through this partnership with FM6SS, we anticipate the needs arising from the airline’s expansion and place the health and fitness of our Flight Personnel at the heart of our performance.”
Through this agreement, Royal Air Maroc and the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health reaffirm their shared commitment to flight safety, operational excellence, and the development of a leading aviation medical expertise in Morocco.
