The African Development Bank Group has approved €200 million in financing to support the “Cap Compétences 2030” program in Morocco, an initiative aimed at strengthening employability and developing skills tailored to the jobs of the future.
According to a statement released Thursday by the pan-African institution, the results-based financing seeks to improve the quality and diversification of vocational training while promoting a better match between business needs and young people’s skills.
The program notably includes the modernization and digitalization of training services, the deployment of large-scale learning systems, and the strengthening of professional integration mechanisms.
“Cap Compétences 2030” is built around three main pillars: skills development and strategic partnerships, the promotion of more inclusive training aligned with labor market needs, and the acceleration of digital transformation supported by institutional and operational strengthening.
The African Development Bank also noted that the initiative will help consolidate existing mechanisms in order to improve their efficiency and expand their coverage for beneficiaries.
Through this program, the financial institution aims to facilitate access to diversified training opportunities and support professional integration, particularly for young people and women.
Quoted in the statement, Achraf Tarsim stressed that the program aligns with the priorities of Morocco’s 2025-2030 national employment roadmap as well as the AfDB Group’s strategic vision.
He stated that the objective is to leverage the Kingdom’s demographic potential to stimulate value creation and promote inclusive employment.
The AfDB further specified that the initiative is being implemented in coordination with technical and financial partners in order to strengthen the complementarity of support for Moroccan public policies.
The program also reflects the Bank’s long-term commitment to Morocco in the fields of human development, employment, and social inclusion.
Since its establishment, the African Development Bank Group has mobilized more than €15 billion in Morocco across several strategic sectors, including education, healthcare, energy, infrastructure, and governance.
