Morocco has taken a new step toward strengthening its digital sovereignty and technological capabilities with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform and Vertiv, a global leader in critical digital infrastructure.
The signing ceremony was held on Monday, July 27, 2026, in Rabat, under the chairmanship of Mrs. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mrs. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni and Mr. Wojtek Piorko, Managing Director of Vertiv Africa, in the presence of Mrs. Zineb Kamri, Regional Director of Vertiv for North-West Africa.
This strategic cooperation aims to establish a framework for exchange and collaboration in the development of digital infrastructure, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, data centers, and the electrical and cooling solutions required for their operation.
During the ceremony, Mrs. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni highlighted that digital infrastructure represents a fundamental pillar of Morocco’s technological sovereignty and a key driver for the development of artificial intelligence, innovation, the digital economy, and the modernization of public services.
The partnership aligns with the implementation of Digital Morocco 2030, the “AI Made in Morocco” roadmap, and the national Cloud Development Roadmap 2025-2030, launched in line with the High Royal Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him.
The MoU provides for several areas of cooperation, including knowledge sharing, technical studies, the identification of strategic projects, and the exploration of innovative solutions tailored to Morocco’s future digital needs.
A major focus of this cooperation will also be the development of Morocco’s sovereign 50 MW data center project in Rabat. This strategic infrastructure aims to strengthen national capabilities in sovereign cloud services, hosting of digital public services, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and cybersecurity.
Discussions on the Future of Critical Digital Infrastructure
Following the signing ceremony, Mrs. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni held discussions with Mr. Andre Biyong, Chief Strategy Officer and Deputy CEO of Cybastion; Mr. Amine Kandil, CEO of N+ONE Datacenters; and Mr. Yassine Benjelloun, Advisor to the CEO of N+One.
The discussions, held in the presence of Mr. Wojtek Piorko and Mrs. Zineb Kamri, focused on opportunities for cooperation in critical digital infrastructure, data centers, sovereign cloud solutions, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing.
Through this partnership, Morocco reaffirms its ambition to build a secure, innovative, and high-performing digital ecosystem capable of supporting future technological transformations and strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a regional digital hub.
