Marrakech Air Show 2026: COMMANDO75 Group takes a major industrial step with BAL TEQ Defense Industries, a $20 million-plus investment in Morocco

Presented at the 8th edition of the Marrakech Air Show, BAL TEQ Defense Industries is a future industrial unit dedicated to ballistic and tactical equipment, planned for the Nouaceur military industrial acceleration zone.

Led by COMMANDO75 Group in partnership with International Golden Group (IGG), a subsidiary of the Emirati EDGE Group, the project provides for an initial investment of more than $20 million and the creation of hundreds of jobs in the long term. It aims to strengthen national industrial capabilities and develop an offering intended, over time, for international markets.

Held from October 7 to 10 at the Royal Air Force Base in Marrakech, the Marrakech Air Show 2026 provided the setting for COMMANDO75 Group to present the model of BAL TEQ Defense Industries. As official sponsor of this 8th edition, held under the High Royal Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the group highlighted an industrial project marking a new stage in its development in Morocco.

Developed in partnership with International Golden Group (IGG), BAL TEQ Defense Industries aims to establish a production capacity specialized in ballistic and tactical equipment intended for armed forces and security services.

A $20 million-plus industrial project on a 20,000 m² site in Nouaceur

Located in the Nouaceur military industrial acceleration zone, managed by the Defense Industrial Zones Management Company (SGZID), the project provides for an initial investment of more than $20 million on a site of around 20,000 m². Operations are expected to begin approximately 24 months after construction starts.

The unit will be based on three complementary production lines. The first will focus on ballistic protection, including bulletproof vests, helmets, plates and shields. The second will cover tactical equipment for security and law enforcement forces. The third will be dedicated to developing tailored solutions to meet the needs of armed forces.

A research and development center will complete the facility to support innovation, technological developments and the adaptation of equipment to operational needs.

According to information provided by the project developers, preliminary industrial engineering studies have been completed. They were carried out with the support of two specialized firms based respectively in South Korea and Hong Kong.

During the show, IGG/BAL TEQ Defense Industries was among the seven companies that signed a land mobilization agreement with the SGZID, a step in preparing its industrial establishment.

An international partnership serving “Made in Morocco”

Founded in 2005, COMMANDO75 Group develops activities in the manufacture of technical clothing and uniforms, tactical accessories, the distribution of defense and security equipment, and the integration of rescue, civil protection and crisis management solutions.

With more than 20 years of expertise and a presence in more than 16 countries, COMMANDO75 Group is taking a new strategic step with BAL TEQ Defense Industries, complementing its expertise as a solutions integrator with an industrial production capacity in Morocco.

The project falls within the national regulatory framework applicable to defense and security materiel and equipment, notably Law No. 10-20. Its implementation remains subject to the completion of the required procedures and the effective start of construction works.

Industrial sovereignty and export ambitions

BAL TEQ Defense Industries intends to contribute to strengthening national capabilities in a sector where technological mastery, equipment quality and secure supply chains are strategic issues.

The project aims first and foremost to meet the Kingdom’s needs, before considering the development of markets in Africa and the Middle East, and then in Europe, in compliance with applicable regulations and authorizations. COMMANDO75 Group’s international network and its industrial partnership with IGG are potential levers to support this ambition.

Through this initiative, COMMANDO75 Group intends to contribute to the emergence of a specialized Moroccan industrial ecosystem capable of generating jobs, developing local skills and strengthening the presence of Moroccan know-how on international markets.

The presentation of BAL TEQ Defense Industries at the Marrakech Air Show 2026 thus represents an important step in raising the project’s visibility and strengthening the group’s industrial positioning in Morocco.
