On the occasion of the 22nd edition of the African Lion 2026, the Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces held talks on Friday in Rabat with the US Secretary of the Army, Daniel Driscoll, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom.
The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Southern Zone Staff on High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, comes as part of the continued strengthening of military relations between Rabat and Washington.
Discussions focused on various aspects of bilateral military cooperation, which is marked by a steady and continuous upward dynamic, according to a statement from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
Both officials highlighted the strength of the partnership between the Royal Armed Forces and the US Armed Forces, underlining regular strategic dialogue and intensive joint activities, with African Lion standing as a key pillar of this cooperation. The 2026 edition coincides with the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States.
At the end of the talks, both officials visited the Multinational Joint Operational Center to observe ongoing training activities and review emerging technologies deployed during this edition of African Lion.
