Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa, President of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation, chaired on Tuesday in Rabat the Foundation’s 2025–2026 end-of-school-year ceremony, reaffirming its status as a national and international benchmark in supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing children.
The ceremony reflects the unwavering commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to ensuring equal opportunities for all children, regardless of their disabilities, as well as HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa’s steadfast dedication to improving the lives, education and inclusion of deaf and hard-of-hearing children and young people in Morocco.
Upon her arrival at the Foundation’s headquarters, HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa reviewed a detachment of the Auxiliary Forces before visiting the training ground where children benefit from the Real Madrid Foundation football school program, as well as several exhibition stands showcasing the Foundation’s educational, cultural and social activities.
In his address, the Foundation’s Vice President, Karim Essakalli, highlighted that nearly 500 pupils, trainees and university students are currently enrolled at the Foundation’s centers in Rabat, Tangier and Meknes, as well as at the Faculty of Sciences in Rabat. He also underlined the opening of the Meknes Center, marking another step forward in promoting inclusive education under the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The ceremony also featured the signing of a framework cooperation agreement aimed at developing skills, promoting professional integration and enhancing the inclusion of talented individuals with disabilities within Morocco’s economic ecosystem. The agreement was signed by Karim Essakalli, Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour, and Hamid Khalifi, President of the Digital University.
Students of the Foundation presented several artistic performances, including the theatrical production “The Market of Promises,” a choreography paying tribute to Morocco’s Atlas Lions national football team, and a performance of the song “Fais-moi signe” by singer Manal Cherki, accompanied by a Foundation student performing in sign language. A video message from members of the Moroccan national football team, recorded in Mexico, was also broadcast to congratulate the students on their academic achievements and pay tribute to HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa’s vision and commitment.
On this occasion, HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa symbolically presented a hearing aid to a child as part of an initiative to distribute 100 hearing devices to children attending the Foundation’s centers in Rabat, Meknes and Tangier, extending the recently launched “Hearing Aid for All” program.
HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa also presented diplomas and awards to the top-performing students of the Foundation. The academic results for the 2025–2026 school year included a 100% pass rate in the baccalaureate examination for 12 students, 10 students earning their middle school certificate, 28 students advancing to middle school, while eight students obtained bachelor’s degrees and five completed master’s degrees in higher education.
The ceremony was attended by members of the government, the Foundation’s Board of Directors, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Rabat, Foundation partners, elected officials and several distinguished personalities.
