Morocco will take part in the UNESCO African Week, scheduled from May 19 to 22, with a rich and diverse program.

In its 2026 edition, the UNESCO African Week, organized by the Africa Group of the organization, highlights the importance of engagement around the theme: “Ensuring sustainable availability of water and safe sanitation systems to achieve the objectives of Agenda 2063.”

The Kingdom will participate in several meetings and thematic panels included in the program, particularly on issues related to water, sanitation, and the sustainable management of water resources in Africa, according to the Moroccan Permanent Delegation to UNESCO.

Morocco will also be present in various spaces for dialogue and expression during the week, including the “Youth Corner,” exhibitions, and the African Book Fair, showcasing national initiatives.

It will also contribute to artistic and creative activities, notably through the “Fashion Show.”

According to UNESCO, the event will feature a wide-ranging program including conferences, high-level panels, youth activities, civil society meetings, exhibitions, cinema, gastronomy, a book fair, a fashion show, and a gala.

Through these highlights, UNESCO and the Africa Group aim to shed light on key issues related to water, youth, culture, and sustainable development across the African continent.
