ONDA Launches Operational Command Center at Mohammed V Airport

The  National Airports Authority (ONDA) officially inaugurated, on Monday, January 5, an Airport Operational Center (APOC) at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, Morocco’s largest airport.

This strategic center represents a major step forward in airport operational management, aiming to ensure smooth and efficient airport operations, particularly during major events such as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and other international events, according to an ONDA statement.

Located at the heart of the airport, the APOC serves as a central hub for supervision and coordination, bringing together all key stakeholders in airport operations: Ministry of Interior, General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), Royal Gendarmerie, Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration, airlines, ground handling companies, airport operator, air navigation and air traffic control services, maintenance teams, and IT services.

Operating 24/7, the center oversees all core processes at Mohammed V Airport: flight planning and coordination, runway and parking management, ground traffic control, baggage handling, passenger flow management, boarding operations, security oversight, maintenance, and critical infrastructure monitoring.

For passengers, the APOC translates into shorter waiting times, smoother travel experiences, and real-time information. For airlines, it provides better resource coordination, reduced delays, and enhanced operational efficiency.

Amid sustained growth in air traffic, estimated at more than 12% per year, the APOC provides a practical solution to performance and resilience challenges, aligning with ONDA’s “Airports 2030” strategy.
