“Rise Up Africa” the Anthem of AFCON 2025

As the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) officially kicked off last Sunday, music is already playing a key role as a vector of unity and emotion. On the sidelines of the continental competition currently taking place in Morocco, several iconic African artists have announced the release of “Rise Up Africa”, a collective track envisioned as the pan-African anthem of this AFCON.

Performed by Elam Jay, Stonebwoy, Toofan, Ameerah Jay, and Ghita Lahmamssi, the song amplifies the popular excitement surrounding the tournament, celebrating African unity, cultural diversity, and the power of togetherness through music.

A Collaboration Fitting for a Continental Event

Coming together in a context where football unites millions across Africa, these internationally renowned artists each bring a strong musical identity that reflects the continent’s richness:

  • Elam Jay, a leading figure of contemporary Moroccan pop, stands out with an innovative, culturally rooted approach.
  • Stonebwoy, a global afro-dancehall icon and BET Award winner, proudly represents African reggae on the international stage.
  • Toofan, the Togolese duo and a West African music reference for over twenty years, contributes their expertise and rhythm, having previously created the official AFCON anthems in 2012 and 2015.

Bridging Generations

Alongside them, Ameerah Jay, a young rising artist based in New York and daughter of Elam Jay, captivates with a powerful voice and strong artistic sensitivity.
Ghita Lahmamssi, a Moroccan multidisciplinary artist, enriches the project with her unique pop universe and charisma, enhancing the track’s inclusive and modern dimension.

A Message of Unity to the Rhythm of AFCON

More than just a song, “Rise Up Africa” conveys a message of collective pride, unity, and solidarity, perfectly aligned with the spirit of AFCON 2025. Through a blend of styles and influences, the track showcases the power of music to bring people together, just as football does.
