Following the security incidents reported in Mexico after the death of the leader of the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG), the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Mexico City has established a monitoring and direct communication unit for Moroccan citizens in the country.
In response to the unrest that erupted in certain regions, the Moroccan diplomatic mission has taken a series of precautionary measures to closely follow the situation of Moroccan nationals residing or temporarily staying in Mexico.
According to a diplomatic source, the newly established unit will ensure continuous communication with Moroccan citizens via email and the embassy’s mobile phone line. The aim is to safeguard their security and provide guidance in line with the evolving security situation.
The embassy has contacted all Moroccans registered with its services, urging them to exercise extreme caution, avoid gatherings and areas experiencing disturbances, and strictly comply with instructions issued by local authorities.
Citizens are encouraged to keep communication channels open with the embassy and to report any emergency or request for assistance through the embassy’s mobile phone (available 24/7), landlines, or official email addresses.
The Moroccan Embassy in Mexico City affirmed that it will continue to closely monitor developments and provide any necessary updates to ensure the safety and well-being of Moroccan nationals present in Mexico.
