Mourad Taoufiki takes on a new role in Morocco’s investment landscape. Lorax Capital Partners has appointed him as Chairman for Morocco, marking a new step in the investment firm’s ambition to strengthen its long-term presence in the Kingdom.
With an international background spanning consulting, business transformation and corporate development, Mourad Taoufiki brings extensive experience to Lorax, including senior positions at McKinsey & Company and Amazon. He notably held leadership roles at Amazon in Europe after serving as a Partner at McKinsey.
In his new role, Taoufiki will contribute to the development of Lorax Capital Partners’ activities in Morocco, identify new investment opportunities and support portfolio companies throughout their growth journeys.
The firm also intends to leverage his expertise to help Moroccan companies strengthen their operations, accelerate growth and expand into international markets.
A New Chapter for Lorax in Morocco
Founded in 2015, Lorax Capital Partners is a private equity firm historically focused on the Egyptian market. The firm currently manages more than $300 million in assets and has significant experience supporting high-growth businesses.
With Taoufiki’s appointment, Lorax aims to deepen its presence in Morocco and build long-term relationships with entrepreneurs and businesses across the Kingdom.
For Taoufiki, the appointment also represents a renewed engagement with Morocco’s business ecosystem. His experience in strategy, operational transformation and international expansion could prove valuable as Lorax develops its investment platform in the Moroccan market.
The appointment comes at a time when Morocco continues to attract investors seeking growth opportunities across Africa. With its growing economy, strategic position and expanding entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Kingdom is increasingly emerging as an important investment hub in the region.
Taoufiki’s international experience could therefore play a key role in helping Lorax identify promising Moroccan businesses and support their ambitions for regional and international expansion.
