Aerospace: Pratt & Whitney opens $76 million manufacturing plant in Casablanca

Pratt & Whitney Canada inaugurated on April 21 a new production facility in Midparc, located in the Nouaceur province near Casablanca. The site is expected to strengthen the group’s global supply chain, support multiple engine programs and create around 200 jobs by 2030.

The project represents an investment of $76 million. The site covers 27,871 square meters, including a 12,000-square-meter production building.

The facility will manufacture detailed machined parts, both static and structural, for Pratt & Whitney Canada aircraft engines, particularly the PT6 engine family. It will also produce key components for a broader range of engines, including the PW300, PW500 and GTF programs.

For the company, this new plant is designed to reinforce its global supply chain and expand production capacity in response to growing demand for aircraft engines.

The new site, inaugurated on April 21, 2026, marks another step in strengthening RTX’s industrial footprint in Morocco.
The new site, inaugurated on April 21, 2026, marks another step in strengthening RTX’s industrial footprint in Morocco.

“This site is a strategic extension of our global production network and demonstrates our commitment to building resilient global supply chains to increase output for our customers,” said Maria Della Posta, President of Pratt & Whitney Canada.

She also highlighted the company’s collaboration with local partners to develop skills, invest in communities and contribute to the growth of Morocco’s aerospace sector.

Construction of the facility began in 2024 and progressed rapidly. The building phase ran from August 2024 to January 2026, followed by operational launch, including recruitment, technical training and installation of advanced machining equipment.

The plant was designed according to lean manufacturing principles and integrates advanced digital systems to support quality, operational excellence and efficiency.

Pratt & Whitney Canada expects to employ around 200 people by 2030. The site already has 77 employees, with an additional 20 currently in training.

This investment builds on RTX’s broader presence in Morocco. The group notes that Collins Aerospace, another RTX business, has been operating in the country since 2012, manufacturing cockpit components and flight control systems. Together, RTX’s operations employ around 250 people in Morocco.

With this new Midparc facility, Pratt & Whitney Canada is expanding its industrial footprint in the country while supporting multiple engine programs.
