Casablanca has marked a new milestone in its emergence as a continental hub for innovation with the launch of the first edition of GITEX Future Health Africa Morocco. Held under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, the international event highlights the growing role of digital technologies in reshaping healthcare systems across Africa.
The event was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tehraoui, in partnership with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sciences and Health and KAOUN International. Under the theme “The Digitalization of the Future of Healthcare in Africa: AI Serving Essential Care,” the exhibition brings together global stakeholders to explore how technology can improve public health delivery.
Key discussions focus on artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and advanced diagnostic tools aimed at reducing healthcare inequalities, improving access in underserved regions, and strengthening disease prediction and prevention systems.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus praised Morocco’s leadership and stressed the importance of deploying digital health solutions responsibly, with a focus on trust, accessibility, and the needs of healthcare professionals.
Bringing together startups, investors, policymakers, and international companies, the event serves as a platform for partnerships and investment in Africa’s healthcare future. Over three days, participants are working toward building more integrated, data-driven, and collaborative health systems across the continent.
