Morocco and Yemen signed a partnership agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of civil aviation, on the sidelines of the 5th edition of the ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS 2026).
The agreement was signed by Morocco’s Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, and his Yemeni counterpart, Mohsen Ali Haidarah Qasem, and covers several key areas, including technical cooperation in civil aviation safety, the development and improvement of air transport quality, as well as capacity-building programs for human resources and technical equipment.
It also includes enhanced exchange of expertise in air navigation regulations, particularly those related to air transport and civil aviation safety and security, as well as cooperation in the development, operation, and management of air navigation infrastructure.
This agreement reflects the shared commitment of both countries to establish sustainable technical cooperation while strengthening institutional and technical capacities in the civil aviation sector.
The discussions also highlighted the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and explored ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in transport, particularly air transport.
Both sides emphasized the importance of reinforcing technical partnership in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, ensuring safety, security, and efficiency in air transport.
In a press statement, the Yemeni minister stressed the importance of GISS 2026 as a major platform for exchange and cooperation in aviation, highlighting its role in strengthening safety and security in the air transport sector.
Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the event takes place from 14 to 16 April in Marrakech under the theme “Regional Solutions, Global Benefits.”
