Morocco is continuing to strengthen its position in global value chains thanks to the major transformations carried out under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour said on Thursday in Paris.
Speaking during a conference held at HEC Paris under the theme “Made in Morocco”, the minister highlighted the progress achieved by the Kingdom over the past decades in both the industrial and economic sectors.
According to Mezzour, Morocco now has strong assets to increase value creation and reinforce its industrial sovereignty. He notably pointed to the country’s human capital, industrial competitiveness and the modernization efforts undertaken across several strategic sectors.
The minister stressed that Morocco is pursuing an industrial upgrading strategy driven by the promotion of “Made in Morocco”, innovation and the continuous development of skills, at a time of profound global change.
He also underlined the key role of Moroccan youth and new technologies in supporting this transformation, noting that emerging skills are becoming a major driver of the country’s industrial evolution.
Addressing artificial intelligence, Mezzour called for stronger integration of AI into education and training programs as well as within Morocco’s industrial ecosystem to support the transformation of professions and production models.
The minister also welcomed the strong Moroccan presence at HEC Paris, praising the achievements of Moroccan students in leading international institutions.
“Seeing Moroccan talent succeed in top schools and excel in high-level environments is a real source of pride,” he said, adding that the country’s youth represent a key pillar in supporting Morocco’s transformation momentum.
For his part, Hachem Bouzoubaa, a member of the HEC Maroc association, said that “Made in Morocco” reflects the deep industrial transformation undertaken by the Kingdom over the past twenty years.
He noted that this momentum has gradually enabled Morocco to establish itself as a competitive industrial platform on the international stage, particularly through the growing interest shown by major global industrial groups in sectors such as automotive and aerospace.
