Mehdi Tazi, Vice President General of the CGEM, and Mohamed Bachiri, President of the Confederation’s Industry Commission, unveiled their candidacy program for the Presidency of the CGEM for the 2026–2029 term during a meeting with representatives of the national economic media.

Built on an extensive consultation and listening phase involving the Confederation’s 37 federations and 12 regional branches, the program aims to support the new phase of economic acceleration currently underway in Morocco.

In a context marked by sustained growth, record public investment, strengthened attractiveness, an evolving industrial landscape, and the opportunities linked to the 2030 FIFA World Cup, the duo emphasized the importance of enhancing the competitiveness of Morocco’s private sector and expanding its international reach.

The proposed program is structured around five major pillars:

Improving the Business Environment

The candidates advocate administrative simplification, better access to financing and industrial land, and a more business-friendly regulatory framework.

Accelerating Morocco’s Productive Sovereignty

The program focuses on industrial upgrading, strengthening the “Made in Morocco” label, advancing the energy transition, and improving logistics competitiveness.

Innovation, Digitalization, and Artificial Intelligence

Technology and artificial intelligence are presented as key drivers of transformation and competitiveness, particularly for SMEs and very small businesses.

Strengthening International Influence

The platform includes stronger export support and the mobilization of Moroccan diaspora skills and networks to expand international opportunities.

Enhancing Synergies within the CGEM

The candidates also seek to reinforce cooperation between federations, regional branches, and commissions in order to improve efficiency and collective impact.

Through this candidacy, Mehdi Tazi and Mohamed Bachiri reaffirm their ambition to contribute to a new momentum for Moroccan companies and national economic development.
