Morocco and Libya have reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in the fields of employment, vocational training, and skills development. This position was expressed on Thursday in Rabat during a meeting between Morocco’s Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, and Libya’s Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed Abou Azoum.
Both officials highlighted the strong relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Libya and expressed their joint determination to further enhance cooperation in employment, labour mobility, vocational training, and skills development.
Discussions focused on modernising the bilateral cooperation framework, particularly through the preparation of a memorandum of understanding, the development of active labour market policies, the sharing of Morocco’s experience in public employment services and vocational training, and the strengthening of cooperation in priority sectors aligned with both countries’ needs.
The two ministers also addressed coordination within regional frameworks, especially ahead of the upcoming meeting of Labour Ministers under the 5+5 Dialogue, which Libya aims to host in the second half of 2026.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to consolidating a partnership based on knowledge exchange, skills development, and the promotion of structured and sustainable employment in line with the common interests of Morocco and Libya.
