Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Commander of the Southern Zone, held talks in Washington, DC with General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, as part of the 14th meeting of the Morocco–US Defense Consultative Committee held from April 14 to 16.
During the meeting, both military officials praised the strong and longstanding bilateral military cooperation between the Royal Armed Forces and the US Armed Forces. They also highlighted the positive momentum of the strategic partnership between the two countries across multiple defense sectors.
Discussions focused on key areas of cooperation, including military training, exchange of expertise and experience, and the organization of large-scale joint exercises. In this regard, both sides emphasized the importance of exercises such as “African Lion,” a cornerstone of military collaboration between Rabat and Washington.
The talks also addressed issues related to strengthening military capabilities and modernizing defense equipment, reflecting the shared commitment of both nations to further enhance their strategic partnership and jointly address regional and global security challenges.
